Peterborough City Council manages and maintains a significant and diverse tree stock in accordance with the Council's Trees and Woodland Strategy. This comprises approximately 40,000 specimen trees across a wide range of locations within the unitary authority area, including highways, parks, open spaces, cemeteries, churchyards, allotments, schools, the Crematorium and other public assets. The Council is committed to maintaining a safe, healthy and sustainable urban forest that contributes positively to the environment, biodiversity, climate resilience and the wellbeing of residents.
